Update

This is just a wordy update... pictures to follow later...

Daniel no longer wants a pacifier... almost ever. He weaned himself off and doesn't really want to go back! I tried giving him one the other day because he was fussing and he through it across the room!!! He also no longer uses a bottle.

Daniel is in the 1 year old class at daycare and is doing very well with his table foods now. No more baby foods. He still isn't the biggest rice fan... but the boy LOVES him some cous cous and peas!

He's starting to go around pointing at things that he wants... so every afternoon he walks into the kitchen and points at the yellow box on the fridge... No, it's not the Cherios he wants (he's started feeding those to the dog!) He wants a Nilla Wafer and he knows they are in a yellow box.

Daniel is being a very good big brother. He doesn't like to hear his sister cry. Last weekend when she was upset and I had picked her up from the swing and walked across the livingroom to sit on the couch I had left her silky blankie. Now, Daniel LOVES his silkie and we were pretty sure he would just try to take Gracie's as well, but he saw that it was still in the swing and picked it up and brought it to her... such a sweet brother!

Grace is... huge. I'm not joking when I say as I carried them both into daycare this morning I SWORE she was heavier than Daniel! She's eating well and starting to look and follow things with her eyes... Especially if you make her mad- then she follows you to make sure you see the dirty looks she wants to throw your way (aka: I just changed her diaper, I just changed her clothes, I'm not just standing there holding the soothie in her mouth FOR her!)

This morning she was also about the smiling-est baby you ever saw. I stuck to our basic schedule and when I got her dressed she gave me this BIIIIIIIG smile as I put the pink bow in her hair (Note to self: Always put pink bow in Gracie's hair!) She didn't even fuss about having to sit in the carrier for an extra couple minutes while I loaded the car (usually she's testing whether or not a baby's cry can pierce a mommy's eardrum!)

Rudy: Rudy's been very busy working, but had a week off last week. Unfortunately, that was also the week Daniel chose to get sick... so much for vacation. He's also finding out just how In-Demand a Med-Peds trained person is! In no less than a week we heard about 3 job opportunities... Now if we could just click our heals together and say, "There's no place like the end of residency, There's no place like the end of residency!"

I don't think that'll work though... we'll just have to wait out the year.

Stephanie: Stephanie is considering going ahead and finishing the master's she started in Dayton as an Educational Psychologist. It's education, it's psychology... it's not a secretary... Gov. Haley Barber announced an 8% raise for teachers in the state... hmmm... something to think about...

Stephanie is still not sorry she's working- thank you very much nay-sayers- She just thinks of it like "free-time before mommy-time".

She, and Rudy sorta, have started weight watchers and are trying to shed the baby weight that accumulated over 2 years. Blech!

Let's see, got my hair cut... I'll have to get Rudy to take a picture... I think it's butchered, but I've gotten compliments... But I'VE ONLY GOT BANGS ON ONE SIDE OF MY HEAD... maybe they're not really bangs though...

I think I'm tired... better let y'all go... before you start to really see my thoughts *twilight zone music starts in the background*

Oh yeah... and Stephanie started writing again. 2 books sent off to publishers... we'll see if they're slush or not...

Bad new mommy

Yeah, I know... I don't write, I don't call... I don't carry pictures of my new baby to my first day back to work... shoot, I thought I was better than this! But at least I fullfilled my requisite on embarassing bath pictures! :-P
